    Aging is Cool believes that no matter how old you are, you can still learn, be healthy, have fun and make a difference in the world. Whether you just turned 50 or even 90 years old, it’s important to keep your brain healthy and active. Aging is Cool’s Stay Smart series brings together brain training, physical movements and memory techniques to help you maintain and improve mental functioning. Enjoy fun and challenging classes that will keep you mentally sharp no matter your age. Wednesday, July 24 and Wednesday, October 16 from 2-3 PM at the San Marcos Activity Center. Brain Training is a Free event sponsored by WellMed.

  1. Discovery Camp - History Hunters Week

    July 22, 2019, 7:30 AM - July 26, 2019, 5:30 PM @ Dunbar Recreation Center

    Come experience an adventure this summer with the City of San Marcos Discovery Camp! The Parks and Recreation Department is offering 9 themed weeks of exploring, adventure, and discovery for campers ages 5 to 10. Campers will have the chance to be outside, do experiments, build things, get messy, work as a team, develop leadership skills, and have fun! Lunch is provided by SMCISD. One field trip to various locations, two trips to the San Marcos Discovery Center, and a trip to the Rio Vista pool each week are included in camp fees. (NO CAMP ON JULY 4th) Registration for Residents will begin on April 2nd and for Non-Residents April 23rd of 2018.

  2. Summer Fun Week 6

    July 22, 2019, 7:30 AM - July 26, 2019, 5:30 PM

    Summer Fun is an 8 week long program (with a one week break between) hosted by the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department for kids ages 7-14 (they can be 6 if they have completed the first grade). SMCISD school sites’ TBD. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Breakfast and lunch are provided by SMCISD and one field trip a week is included in camp fees. Field trips are to the Rio Vista Pool, Starplex Movie Theatre, and Sunset Bowling Lanes. Registration for residents is $32/week and begins on April 1. Registration for non-residents is $50/week and begins on April 22.
