The City of San Marcos (“the City”) is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide the Public Services Department with an Automated Vehicle Location (“AVL”) System for use in our vehicles and equipment.  The City wishes to acquire all necessary hardware, firmware, and software necessary for a vehicle tracking system that will allow City staff to receive, integrate, review, and store GPS data in “real time” intervals as well as dispatch more effectively its fleet of vehicles and equipment.   

While the City is currently interested in an AVL system to encompass only the Public Services Department, the City would like the option to expand the AVL system to include up to an estimated one hundred fifty (150) vehicles and equipment items from other Departments.
