[ARCHIVED] City to Host 'The Business-minded Artist' Workshop May 2

Ryan Runcie will share his experience and business advice for fellow artists at a workshop May 2 from noon-2 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center Room 2, 501 E. Hopkins.

The Business-minded Artist workshop will explore topics such as setting goals, earning an income, and thoughts on professionalism for artists wishing to treat their artistic endeavors as a business.

The workshop is free of charge, and a light lunch will be provided. Space is limited, so please RSVP to Arts Coordinator Trey Hatt at ghatt@sanmarcostx.gov.

About Ryan Runcie

Ryan Runcie lives in Austin and has private collections and large-scale public murals across Texas. His work consists of paintings, large-scale murals, and design. In 2016, Runcie received his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University in communication design. He has traveled through multiple Caribbean islands and France, studying the cultures and their relation to their art in order to better relate his work globally. He has worked alongside other artists for years, creating murals and commissioned work before taking on his own large-scale work. Ryan Runcie has been commissioned to create murals and large scale installations for the City of San Marcos, Ebay, Capital Metro, George W.
