As of November 1, 2023, the City of San Marcos is accepting donations for its 2nd Annual Winter Heater Drive. Space heaters donated during the initiative will be distributed to residents through The Salvation Army San Marcos.
“We’re excited to bring back the Winter Heater Drive for the second year,” said Director of Utilities Tyler J. Hjorth. “We are proud to provide members of our community in need with a source to keep warm during the cold weather months.”
Anyone interested in helping neighbors in need who do not have or cannot afford heating can purchase heaters through the SMTX Utilities Amazon wish list or make monetary donations through the online payment service called Stripes, sanmarcostx.gov/AboutSMTXU. All contributions will be used to purchase new heaters for distribution to people in need of assistance. Heaters purchased through the Amazon wish list will be delivered directly to the Public Services Center, 2217 E. McCarty Lane, and distributed to members of our community.
Heaters will be accepted through November 30, 2023. San Marcos residents interested in receiving a free heater are encouraged to reach out to The Salvation Army San Marcos at 512-754-8541 to get on the wait list.
