Growing Up Wild

November 14, 10  a.m. and 4  p.m.

Come out to this nature experience! We’ll read books on different nature topics each month followed by a fun craft or outdoor activity. Preschool aged children are welcome to attend our 10  a.m. session, while school aged children should attend our after-school session at 4  p.m.


Storytime

November 15, 10  a.m. and 11  a.m.

Children are invited to the library for great stories, songs, and fun.


Baby Storytime

November 15, 12  p.m.

An early literacy playgroup for pre-walkers. Join other babies for songs, stories, stretches and playtime!


Shut Up and Write!

November 17, 1  p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

With a "just do it" attitude, Shut Up and Write! is for anyone trying to finish a writing project. No critiques or group share allowed. The first 30 minutes are for introductions and to discuss writing challenges followed by one hour dedicated to work in silence. Reading Adds Up

November 17, 2  p.m. to 4  p.m.

Can kids really love both reading and math? You bet! Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of math and literacy. Students from Texas State University will read a variety of children’s stories and then work with kids in small groups on math problems related to the story. We will have individual stations targeting developmentally appropriate goals for learners ages 3-10.


FAFSA Help

November 17, 2  p.m. to 5  p.m.

The Texas State Center for P-16 Initiatives is providing free help for students needing to fill out their FAFSA, (financial aid forms for college) on Sundays from 2  to 5  on November 3rd, November 10th, and November 17th. Anybody, parent or student, that needs help filling out forms for any college are welcome to drop-in during their service hours.


Puppet Show! The Cornucopia Caper: A Thanksgiving Story

November 19, 10  and 11  a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The library puppeteers perform a puppet show for all ages.

Free Assistance with the Affordable Care Act and HealthCare.gov

November 19, 10  a.m. to 12  p.m.

December 15 is the deadline for enrolling in the Health Insurance Marketplace.  Get answers about eligibility guidelines, and compare options for healthcare and dental coverage. Participants often save money and sign up for the best coverage options by meeting with a trained and licensed ACA professional.


Cuéntame Bilingual Stories

November 19, 12  p.m.

For ages 3 to 6. Stories, songs, and fun in English and Spanish. Para niños de 3 a 6 años. Cuentos, canciones, y diversión en inglés y español.


Computer Class

November 20, 10  a.m.

Free introductory computer classes in email, Internet searching, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel for adults. Learn how to get started with your iPad or tablet.


Jennifer’s Book Chat

November 20, 6:30 p.m.

The goal of Jennifer's Book Chat is to discover books and authors we didn't know we'd love. At each meeting, staff member Jennifer will announce a surprise topic and together we'll select books to discuss at the upcoming meeting. Serious readers, this program is for you.
