    We have extended the hours for Adult Pickleball Open Play! It is now offered on Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 AM– 12:00 Noon and 9:00 – 11:30 AM on Fridays, at the San Marcos Activity Center for ages 18 and up. We have six courts for Pickleball, which has allowed us to designate three courts as competitive courts and three courts as recreation courts. This has helped us accommodate our growing number of advanced and beginner level Pickleball players. Pickleball is free for Activity Center members. Nonmembers will be charged the daily use rate of $3.00 for residents and $4.00 for nonresidents. Paddles and balls are available for those who do not have their own. The fee for this event is $5.00/ person and includes shoe rental and 2 games of bowling.   2. Intro to Basic Watercolor Techniques

    This course for adults will be an introduction to basic water color techniques presented by Michael Hannon. It will consists of four online sessions that will start with washes, the most characteristic technique for watercolor, including wet on dry and wet on wet techniques, then how dry brush techniques can be used with these, both before and after, especially to define details. We will cover some basic blotting and scratching and other special techniques, and then we will end by putting all of these together. Registration required. It will consists of four online sessions that will start with washes, the most characteristic technique for watercolor, including wet on dry and wet on wet techniques, then how dry brush techniques can be used with these, both before and after, especially to define details. We will cover some basic blotting and scratching and other special techniques, and then we will end by putting all of these together. Registration required.     City of San Marcos offices, including City Hall, Library, Activity Center, Municipal Court, and Utility Offices operations will be unavailable on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.     Pick your own apples and enjoy some apple pie and ice cream at the Medina Love Creek Orchard! We will be headed to Medina, Texas for some apple picking, food, and fun on Thursday, July 16, 2020. We will depart from the Activity Center at 8am and return around 4:30pm. Trip cost is $28 per person and includes orchard tour and sampling. Lunch at the Love Creek Café is on your own. Registration begins May 4, 2020 and ends June 26, 2020.
