NOTICE: Mayor’s Order Prohibits Gatherings Over 10 & Closes Select Facilities Until May 11

All Parks and Recreation programs and events have been suspended through May 11. The Activity Center is closed until further notice. River front parks, playgrounds, the skate park, dog park, public restrooms and water fountains are closed. River front parks include: Rio Vista, City Park, Plaza Park, Veramendi, Bicentennial, Children’s Park, Crook Park, Veteran’s Memorial Park, Dog Beach, Capes Park, Thompson’s Island, Stokes Park, Ramon Lucio Park, and Wildlife Annex/Wilderness Park. Youth Baseball & Softball

San Marcos Youth Baseball Softball Association offers Youth Baseball and Softball during the Spring season. Baseball is played at Ramon Lucio Park and Softball is played at the Gary Softball Complex. Youth Softball leagues are also offered during Summer and Fall seasons at Gary Softball Complex. Visit the SMYBSA Website for more information and registration at

Youth Basketball

Our Jr. NBA/WNBA Youth Basketball League is offered during Winter and Summer seasons at the San Marcos Activity Center.

Firecracker Evening 5K

This event is held annually every Thursday before July 4th in conjunction with the Fourth of July Celebration at Five Mile Dam Park.

Youth Soccer

Surge Soccer Club promotes youth soccer in San Marcos and Wimberley, Texas and surrounding areas, including Martindale, Driftwood and Maxwell.  The Five Mile Dam Field Complex has enhanced our ability to fulfill our mission. Snake League Indoor Soccer is also offered at the San Marcos Activity Center during November.

Adult Softball

Adult Softball Leagues are offered during the Spring, Summer, and Fall sessions at Gary Softball Complex. Leagues offered include Men's C, D, E & Church as well as three levels of Coed play. 

Youth Velcro T-Ball

Come and have fun in our introductory Baseball/Softball program. Participants will use Velcro Baseball mitts and balls and will learn to hit off a tee.

Youth & Adult Volleyball

San Marcos Parks and Recreation offers Adult Leagues year round with programs offered in the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Youth Leagues are offered during the Summer and Fall.
