Pancakes with Santa Was A Success!
On Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am all were invited to Station #5 for Pancakes, Fire Trucks, and Santa! Pancakes with Santa is always a great event! Santa made his grand arrival on Ol’ Betsy and then listened to children’s wish lists. Santa & Elf Natalie took photos with almost 200 kids!
At the 2019 Pancakes with Santa, SMFD staff and CFAAA Alumni cooked up almost 500 sausage patties and over 1000 pancakes on the specially designed rotating pancake grill for the annual fundraiser for our friends at the fire department in 2019. Funds raised will go towards the needs or special projects the department may request.
We also want to thank the generosity of McDonald’s that donated drinks, butter, and syrup, Taco Cabana for bean and cheese tacos, and Mochas and Javas for donating hot coffee and hot chocolate. A huge thanks to all of our incredible volunteers that made this event so successful; especially former Mayor Daniel Guerrero who filled in for Santa and his elf, Natalie! They were THE BEST!
Keep an eye out for when Santa will make his way back to Station #5, always the 2nd Saturday in December!
SMFD would like to thank the Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association for donating 60 smoke detectors on Friday, November 15, 2019.
Did you know that San Marcos residents can get free smoke detectors and installation through the Fire Department? Call the Smoke Detector Hotline at 512-393-8484; to schedule this free service if you live within the City Limits. Let's get a smoke detector in every home!

Backpacks Donated to SMFD Summer Camp Program
The San Marcos Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association donated custom made backpacks for the departments Junior Fire Academy Summer Camp in June 2018. The drawstring backpacks held fire prevention material and supplies for the campers that participated in the week long day camp. The fire department had two sessions in the month of June that were filled to capacity with happy children.

CFAAA Welcomed New Recruits
The Alumni Association welcomes the fire department’s newest members with a welcome bag filled with goodies, information about things to do and see in San Marcos, and merchandise freebies from area businesses.
We would like to thank San Marcos Daily Record, Sur-Powr Battery Supply, Ozona National Bank, Dr. Aycock, and many other local businesses who contributed to the welcome bags. The newest probationary firefighters will be an asset to the San Marcos Fire Department growing department!
