San Marcos/Hays County Narcotics Task Force
The Narcotics Task Force was formed by inter-local agreement in 1998 for the purpose of county-wide investigation and enforcement of State and Federal drug laws, and it is a cooperative effort between the San Marcos Police Department and the Hays County Sheriff's Office.
The Task Force is composed of 9 individuals:
- 1 crime analyst
- 4 detectives from the Hays County Sheriff's Office, including a Narcotics K-9 handler
- 4 detectives from the San Marcos Police Department, including commanding officer Sergeant Wade Parham
Additionally, the Hays County District Attorney assigns 1 prosecutor specifically for the felony drug cases brought by the Narcotics Task Force.
