Castle Forest Drainage Improvements

Castle Forest Drainage Channel illustration

The Castle Forest Subdivision channel and adjacent neighborhood has a reported history of flooding and drainage issues during large rainfall events.  This project will evaluate existing drainage conditions and develop recommendations to alleviate existing flooding problems. The project will be conducted in the following phases:

Phase 1 – Preliminary Engineering Report (on-going) This phase includes conducting a drainage evaluation and recommending improvements that meet City drainage criteria and standards, focused on flooding problem areas and evaluation results.  Phase 1 findings will be presented in a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER).  Proposed improvements will also consider comments received from citizens during public meetings.

PER major tasks include:

  • Data Collection
  • Existing Conditions Analysis
  • Public Meeting
  • Alternative Analysis
  • Constraints Development
  • Opinion of Probable Cost (Estimate)
  • Preliminary Engineering Report

Phase 2 – Design (future) will consist of developing recommended drainage improvements design and construction documents including drawings, specifications and cost estimates.

Construction (future) will consist of constructing proposed drainage improvements.
