Our goal for this website and the pages within is to allow our community to quickly and easily find the online resources they need to contact us, obtain services from our department, and communicate with us.  We hope you will find the website inviting and easy to use.

The San Marcos Police Department is a full-service police agency providing 24/7 police response to the San Marcos Community.  We also provide 24/7 emergency dispatch services for police, fire, and EMS within the city of San Marcos. Our goal is to make San Marcos a better and safer place to live, work, and play in partnership with the members of our community.  The members of our department take great pride in delivering a high level of service to the San Marcos community and in doing so while treating people with dignity and respect.  We accomplish our goals through the deployment of 106 sworn and 52 non-sworn employees into several specialized divisions including uniformed patrol, criminal investigations, emergency communications, community services, K9 operations, traffic enforcement, narcotics investigations, and school resource services.
