  Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.

• Why is the City of San Marcos using “Twitter”?

Twitter will be used much like an e-mail blast subscription to update subscribers on News and Events happening in our city.  Twitter may also be used by the City when there is an emergency or large-impact road closure.

• How do I follow the City of San Marcos on Twitter?

  Visit our Twitter site at www.twitter.com/cityofsanmarcos, and click the "Follow" button underneath the city seal. You can set your preferences to receive alerts via Twitter's website, SMS mesages to your cell phone (your phone carrier's charges apply), RSS feeds to your computer's internet browser, or e-mail.
