    • San Marcos River Cleanup

The cleanup that was held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 was a huge success!  275 people participated in the cleanup and collected 4,500 pounds of trash/debris and 3,000 pounds of reused or recycled materials.  Keep San Marcos Beautiful wants to thank every volunteer for their hard work, and we hope to see you out there again for the fall cleanup.  The San Marcos Fall River Cleanup has yet to be determined.

    • Community Cleanups - Making your community a more beautiful place to live, work, and play is easy.  If you have a group ready to clean a specific area (or you are an individual who just wants to make a difference), KSMB can help you plan your cleanup.  Email Heather Powdrill at hpowdrill@sanmarcostx.gov to reserve your supplies.  Please submit your request at least two weeks before your cleanup. For ongoing cleaups, please see the Adopt-a-Spot program below.

  • Beautify
  • You can be personally involved in the preservation of a precious San Marcos resource by adopting a spot, park or a section of the river.  The adoption process involves cleaning and beautifying your spot at least four times a year.  Each participant in the group will be recognized for their efforts.  The program strives to raise public awareness; educate citizens about the source of debris; and generate public support for community involvement to Keep San Marcos San Marvelous.
