Although we are a publicly funded facility, our budget is limited. To keep all our animals in good care we encourage both adoption and charitable donations.
Our Mutts Strut Guardian Angel program allows loving individuals to sponsor a pet. Guardians simply pick the adoptable animal they like and sponsor them. Many wonderful pets have found people with loving homes through this act of kindness.
As part of this program, someone may sponsor an adoption for a loved one, including a personalized acknowledgment as a unique and meaningful gift for anyone who loves animals.
At memorial services, many families request that donations be made to local animal shelters. San Marcos Animal Services will send, on your behalf, an acknowledgment to the bereaved affirming your charitable gift. Below is a sample certificate.
In addition to monetary donations, the shelter graciously accepts pet supplies, newspaper, food, cat litter, blankets, towels, treats, toys and cleaning supplies.
