Eight-Day Wristband Passes on Sale for Sights & Sounds


The 32nd Annual Sights & Sounds of Christmas Festival, presented by Central Texas Medical Center, Chuck Nash Auto Group, and La Cima San Marcos, will be held on two weekends: Nov. 28-Dec. 1 and Dec. 5-8 at San Marcos Plaza Park, 206 N. C.M. Allen Parkway.


Access and shuttle service


Pedestrian walkways will be provided to allow access through the C.M. Allen construction zone. The pathways will be 10 feet wide and handicap accessible.


Free parking and shuttle service are available from 5 - 11:30 p.m. each night in the Strahan Coliseum parking lot, 700 Aquarena Springs Drive. Handicap accessible parking is available at Strahan Coliseum, and those with mobility impairments are encouraged to use it and ride the free shuttle. All shuttles are ADA accessible.


The Grant Harris Jr. Building parking lot will not be accessible to the public and will only be used for entertainment drop off. Attendees who will be using parking other than the Strahan Coliseum lot are asked to only use pedestrian crosswalks and to follow directional signs leading them to the festival entrances.


Park closures


City Park and Plaza Park are now closed for Sights & Sounds preparation and will remain closed through mid-December. The closures also include the parking lots for those parks.


Sights & Sounds of Christmas


Festival goers can enjoy unlimited admission with the purchase of a an 8-day pass wristband for $15, available online at http://sights-n-sounds.org and at the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, 202 N C.M. Allen.


Sights & Sounds of Christmas offers free admission to children ages 12 and under. Admission for all others is $5 per day. Purchase of a wristband will save money for anyone who attends more than one day.


The event features hundreds of thousands of lights, live entertainment, food booths, arts and crafts, carnival rides, ice skating, A Night in Old Bethlehem, a free petting zoo, photos with Santa Claus, and much more.


Entertainment highlights this year include performances by local schoolchildren, choirs, dancers, and appearances by local musicians.
