Farmers Market – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., San Antonio Street on south side of the courthouse. Fresh produce, arts and crafts every Saturday downtown.

Arbor Day Celebration – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Discovery Center, 430 Riverside Drive, San Marcos, TX 78666. Attendees are invited to explore vendor booths, enjoy interactive activities and listen to a tree talk. Children’s activities include story-telling and educational fun. Forestry badges will be available. San Marcos residents who present a San Marcos Public Library Card or Driver’s License with an address within San Marcos are eligible for a tree giveaway, which will take place on a first-come, first-served basis.

2019 Veterans Day Parade and Breakfast - The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and wind through downtown San Marcos. A free biscuit and gravy breakfast will again be served on the County Courthouse lawn beginning at 8:30 a.m. along with entertainment leading up to the parade. Join the Kiwanis Club Kids Bicycle Brigade! Show your support for Veterans by decorating and riding your bike in the parade from 9-10 a.m. preceding the parade. The Farmer's Market and Art Squared are also going on at the same time so there is lots to see and do! Nomination forms for grand marshal are posted on the city website www.sanmarcostx.gov/parade. The nomination deadline is Oct. 8. The deadline for entering the parade is Oct. 25. No fee to enter. Veterans Day Parade rules & guidelines and application can be found at www.sanmarcostx.gov/parade.
