Citizens Online Police Reporting System (COPRS) is a web-based reporting service that allows the public to report certain types of crimes online. You may also register serial numbers for your personal property. All reports filed online will be reviewedin the order they are received. Response time to online reports can take as long as two weeks. Online reports are not monitored 24/7, and the public is urged to call 911 for emergencies.
You may report the following: burglary of a coin-operated machine, burglary of a vehicle (any amount), harassment, identity theft, lost property, theft under $2500 (separate from burglary of a vehicle), or vandalism under $1500 in damage.
You can NOT report the following online: Credit/Debit Card Abuse, Burglary of Habitation, Stolen Drugs/Narcotics or Guns.
When filing the online report, "evidence" means blood splatter, weapons, or identifiable items left behind by a suspect. Photos that pertain to your incident are not evidence but you can submit those at a later time in the online report.
If your incident is an emergency, call 911. If your incident is not on the list, call our non-emergency line at 512-753-2108 and request to file your report either in person or via telephone.
