Hills of Hays Lift Station Rehabilitation - January 2021

• Construction finished on manhole and bypass valve over existing force main, to bypass lift station
• Slight delay on bypass pumping caused by different alignment of sewer services per design.  This has been resolved and additional work is underway so bypass pumping can continue. 
• Work started to prepare lift station wet well for coating. Coating will be completed when bypass pumping in place
• Work to start on concrete paving around lift station. 

This project will rehabilitate the Hills of Hays lift station located off Staples Road. The lift station was originally built in the 1980’s and is in need of rehabilitation to extend its service life and improve access and security.

Improvements include:

• Protective coating of the lift station wet well.
• Coating of lift station piping.
• Replacement of pump guide rail system.
• Replaced valves
• New cantilever access gate
• Concrete surfacing around within lift station compound
• Replacement of existing fencing around compound

• The project has been designed and bid for construction. Construction expected to be awarded in August 2020 with a duration of six months.
