Important Dates

  • July 20, 2019 - First Day to File for place on the ballot (Saturday, Office hours not required)
  • August 19, 2019 - Last Day to File for place on the ballot
  • October 21, 2019 - First Day of Early Voting - Early Voting Locations
  • November 1, 2019 - Last Day of Early Voting

Where Do I Vote? 

Hays County & the City of San Marcos will be utilizing Vote Centers or Countywide Polling Locations for this election.  

What are Vote Centers?Vote Centers is a term used to refer to the Countywide Polling Place Program defined in the Texas Elections Code. When a county participates in the program, voters are allowed to cast their ballots in any polling place in the county, just like they do during early voting.

Forms for Candidates

The City of San Marcos contracts with the Hays County Election Administrator to conduct and oversee its elections.  

The voting system that is used is the Verity Duo by Hart Intercivic. This voting system is the newest hybrid voting solution that merges the ease of touchscreen voting with the assurance of paper vote records.
