How You Can Help

Post-Construction BMP Inspections

In order to meet the conditions of the state-issued Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit, the City passed an ordinance that addressed all of the requirements of the permit. One area affected by the new ordinance is post construction best management practice (BMP) inspections.

The ordinance requires owners of permanent stormwater management facilities to conduct annual inspections of each facility. The inspection report must be prepared by a Texas-licensed engineer and the engineer must be chosen from a list of engineers who have been pre-certified by the City of San Marcos.
