Women, Infants & Children (WIC)

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a health and nutrition program with a successful record for improving the diet of infants, children, and pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women who are at risk for nutrition-related illness. The main focus of the WIC program is to educate parents/caregivers on the proper nutrition for babies and young children. In addition to nutrition education, WIC clients also receive breastfeeding support and education, supplemental WIC foods, and referrals to other health and social services. For more information, visit the Texas WIC website.
